Trust No One Jan 17, 2008
By Chuckles-KY I almost never write product reviews. But I have found this product to be the complete opposite of what many(most) of the reviews here describe.
I have owned numerous headsets for phone use, both wired and cordless. I have had several different bluetooth headsets. My first bluetooth headset was one of those "on the ear" types which are so popular. I think they are all about looks and no function. To me they are pretentious. I believe one reviewer used the adjective "Hollywood" to describe them. I used that one briefly and then discarded it. I then obtained the Jabra BT500. That was the first headset I found to be pleasant to use, functional, and not just a gimmick. When I saw the BT5020 I thought it looked like a great upgrade. Then I read all the negative reviews here and had second thoughts. But, in the end, I followed my own instincts and trusted no one and bought one. Boy am I glad I did! The build-quality of this piece is superb. The matte black finish, angles and lines make it very sleek and gorgeous! It is so comfortable you will probably forget it's there after a period of time! It is smaller and lighter than my BT500.
I am not sure what all these reviews are about the poor sound-quality and reception. I have absolutely no interference or static whatsoever on incoming calls. In fact, it is crystal clear, even more so than using the phone itself! I have never had anyone even realized I was using a hands-free device. My wife is the most astute. She always complains about the sound quality and "echo-like" effect of my bluetooth sets. With this one she doesn't even know I am using it.
The only possible negative I can think of would be the rubber piece that fits in the ear canal seems kind of flimsy. And I wish they made different sizes.
But, in summary, if you are considering buying your first bluetooth headset you cannot go wrong with this one. If you are thinking about upgrading you will be amazed at what you've been missing once you try the Jabra BT5020. Highly recommended!!

Love this Headset, but It's Easily Breakable Jun 19, 2008
By Agen GN Schmitz Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2PIV5Z4B11TIT I'm a fan of the Jabra 5020 headset -- it fits very well and comfortably around my ear and I've enjoyed good reception when connected to both my Treo 680 and iPhone. But I've gone through two models, and both have broken. The earpiece seems to be the weak link in this headset, as it's broken twice in my pocket (from not very rough treatment).

Good looks -- Terrible performance! get at 250V Jul 23, 2007

"TNL"
Longtime user of Jabra BT200 with two years of great use -- most of time people didn't know I was on a Bluetooth. Thought the BT5020 better looks and better claim of wind resistance was a great upgrade. Big mistake. More wind noise, and constant buzzing on the line. Constant "What did you say?" from the moment of use from anyone I called. New ear style is comfortable, but the darn thing does not lock and rotates every time you put it on. I have replaced with a Jabra BT250V, the replacement for my old model -- Back to great sound on both ends. Sorry to see Jabra sound quality bad on the new model, but stick with the 250V!

Light weight, comfortable to wear and great talk and standby times Jun 30, 2007

"There's no place like 127.0.0.1"
I really like the "behind the ear" headsets, they seem more comfortable to me so I decided to upgrade to the Jabra BT5020. I moved from the Jabra BT500 to the BT5020 and really like the BT5020. I like the size and solid black color, it's very unassuming, never cared for the startrek look of the other headsets. The volume is loud and clear. The headset is very easy to wear for long periods of time because of it's light weight. It has GREAT talk and standby time and comes with a AC Adapter and a USB cable for charging, so you can have the AC Adapter at home and the USB cable at work or with your laptop for charging.
I had a bit of trouble pairing it to my Treo 700Wx but got it working, it also paired fine with my wifes Motorola Razor and my kids Samsung U740.
Great unit, good features and a good price!

Great overall headset. Mar 11, 2008
By Just Another Dewd My first headset was an older Jabra model which I was generally very satisfied with, but I replaced last year with a Jawbone when I got an iPhone because it didn't work entirely properly with the iPhone. After having a generally bad experience with the Jawbone, I recently got this newer Jabra BT5020 to try out, and I am nothing short of very satisfied with this headset.
For starters, the Jabra fits nicely over and behind the ear as one unit. One advantage to this one-piece design is the superior sturdiness it affords. And with a little practice, it gets very easy to simply "slap" this headset on and start using it. I find this especially important when I have an incoming call and the headset isn't on my head... it's imperative to have a headset that I can don quickly before losing the call.
The earpiece on the Jabra BT5020 is a bit different from the one I had previously. The older one had replaceable gel tips of various sizes that one could choose according to preference. These tips stayed on very firmly early on, though in time they were increasingly prone to fall off as they aged and wore out. The BT5020 comes with a couple flimsy tips that slip on, but they are pretty much pointless since they come off too easily. But that's ok. You can wear this headset without the tips, and I've actually gotten to prefer not having an ear tip inside my ear. And the sound quality is simply superb, IMO. The ear tip rotates around to accommodate which ear you are wearing it on. In practice, you can't really get the tip to reliably face "inwards", but that hasn't actually proven to be a problem since the volume level is more than adequate. I usually have my phone set to less than half the max volume. The headset itself has its own volume adjustment as well.
My only disappointment is that the charging socket isn't the small "standard" USB type. Ideally, I'd like to be able to reuse the same USB cable that I use for a number of other devices that have the standard USB connection to reduce the cable clutter, but no luck here. The supplied USB cable is a very short one, so I find it convenient to plug into the back of my keyboard.
Overall, this is a great headset with excellent sound quality and ample volume. While not the lightest of designs, it does fit comfortably over and behind the ear, and is not prone to falling off due to the nature of the design (which actually fits much like many hearing aids).
