Good iTouch stand Feb 17, 2010
By K. Erdmann I was hesitant about getting this stand because of some of the reviews and because I wasn't sure how well it would work with my iPod Touch 2g, however I decided to give it a try. It works great!! I base a lot of my purchases on user reviews and the reviews on this stand weren't very specific so here are some details that might help you determine if this stand might work for you. I have a speck pixel skin case on my iTouch but it does not hinder use of the stand. In fact, the skin helps keep my iPod balanced in the stand. No sliding, no falling, and no tipping, even when standing vertically/portrait. And for added stability, I put a little bit of poster putty on the bottom of the stand so that even if I bump my desk, my iTouch and the stand stays perfectly in place. This stand is simple, solid, and suits my needs perfectly.

Tiny but really well designed! Nov 24, 2009

I bought this because I don't like just having my phone lay on the desk when I charge it or synch it. It is great having it sideways if you are running a clock app. There are a ton of uses for it and it is a great design! If you just want to have a no frills holder for your iPhone or iPod touch then get this stand.

Simple, yet extremely effective Dec 14, 2009
By Virginia Vol Bought this to use with my iPhone 3G. Works great in BOTH landscape and portrait modes. I even have a thin case (iSkin) on the phone and it handles that fine. For thicker cases like the Otterbox it may not work, but overall this is a great solution. Aluminum is sturdy and lightweight.

Perfect for 3G/3GS without a case. Don't even bother if you plan to use it for iPhone 4 or 1G Jul 18, 2010

I have iPhones from each generation (1G, 3G, 4) so I had a chance to try each one of them in the Elago S2 stand.
Since it's made for the 3G I expected it to fit - and it does - perfectly! The shape of the stand is contoured to fit the form of the 3G/3GS perfectly. It's fine in both Portrait and Landscape modes. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to fit with any of the cases that I have. I was also a little concerned with the risk of scratches since the front of the stand hugs the screen. It would also have been nice if there were some rubber or other non-slip feet on the stand.
This stand does not fit the original iPhone or the iPhone 4 so don't even bother.

Ridiculously simple - but works Apr 05, 2010

This stand is just as simple as it looks. A hunk of aluminum shaped to hold your iPhone.
The bottom lip comes up and stops just short of covering screen real estate, so it's obvious some thought went into the design.
One reviewer here said it didn't work with iPhones that were using cases. Apparently it depends on the case.
I have an iFrogz Luxe Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Blue,Black), which works fine with the stand. I also just purchased Elago's own S2 case - not a fair comparison since Elago makes both the stand and case, but worth noting that they're a good match together.
The only drawback I can think of for this stand is that it's not very portable. Sure, it's small and light but is just big enough and oddly-shaped enough that it would be uncomfortable to throw into your pocket. A smaller version that could fit on a keychain would be something I'd like to see.
