I can not praise these cases enough. I just recently bought the elago S3 Case for iPhone 3GS in Gun Metal as my second elago case. I have to say, I loved my other case, but I am even happier with the S3.
Bottom Line:
- Case fits amazingly
- Not bulky, and looks great
- Grips well in the hand
- Protects the iPhone very well
- Does not interfere with docking, taking photos or get in the way of any of the controls
- Bang for the Buck - Value
My experience:
When I first got my iPhone people tried to convince me to buy bulky inconvenient cases that bulge in your pocket, interfere with docking, or just feel like they cheapen your iPhone. In case you can not tell, I disliked them for all of the aforementioned reasons.
When I found elago, I wanted to get one for times when I didn't feel the phone would be at major risk, and for the price thought, why not. However I got lazy and began using it for day to day use, and of course eventually dropped it. It was then that I found that the case was safe enough for permanent use. The bulky cases got recycled and my iPhone has been protected by an awesome case that only adds to and never detracts from the iPhone's styling and capabilities since.
For people concerned with protection and quality, I have yet to drop the phone in the new S3, however it surrounds the phone even better than the original, and it's even a bit more snug. The last case, I dropped multiple times (surprise), mostly from standing height (I am 6'3", so probably around an est. 4' drop). Anything below that I will not consider a drop, but if you do, get this case and you can be on my level. Several times from standing height have been on rough and broken California asphalt, and my phone is still pristine.
These elago cases fit the phone in a way that the size difference in the phone is barely noticeable, and for me even as a bigger guy with big mitts, this is a positive. It also, makes it look like a whole new iPhone, these cases are plain awesome. I have shown them off to friends, family, and co-workers alike and have made many fans and shared many links so they can get their own.
After a year+ of abuse as my phone, the iPhone is still flawless (thank you front film and logo film as well as elago) and the case only shows some fade in the color from where I hold it and a minor crack in the corner from a 2nd story drop off my balcony (hooray beer).
I am a fan.

This is a great case for the iPhone. It does not include a screen protector in case you are wondering. I like the nice touch of providing a small decal to cover the Apple logo on the back, it is surely going to protect the phones exposed area.

This product looks GREAT with my black iPhone 3GS. It's kind of sparkly, so the name "Gun Metal" might be kind of misleading, but I love it. Dock adapter is nice, I use it daily in my Altec Lansing Mini Speaker and it snaps right in. Also I like the back pretection film to protect your vulnerable Apple logo from scratches. True, it does not come up over the top of the screen, but I already knew this seeing as I had the same case in a different color already (it lasted about 8 months). Will buy elago S4 Glide Case for AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4 with Extra Bottom Clip Front Screen Film and Back Protection Film (Hot Pink) when I upgrade to an iPhone 4.

Does a good job of protecting the phone. I dropped my phone in Home Depot on the concrete floor from about 3-4 feet and it held up. The phone was not scratched or cracked. The case did not come off or crack either. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I cannot get the case off the phone for anything.
